Filipino Beer Taste Test! Red Horse, Ginebra, San Miguel

FOREIGNERS TRY FILIPINO BEER!

During our time in the Philippines, we have tried almost every beer they have on offer so we thought why not test ourselves on our beer knowledge? We bought some Filipino FAVOURITES San Miguel Red Horse, San Miguel Lemon, San Miguel Light and San Miguel Pale Pilsner, blindfolded ourselves, tasted them and tried to guess which beer we were tasting.

Red Horse Beer is a popular Filipino lager, known for its strong, bold flavour and higher alcohol content (6.9%). It’s a favourite among locals who enjoy a richer, more robust beer. Often served chilled, it’s perfect for social gatherings. San Miguel Lemon Beer is a refreshing, lightly alcoholic beverage with a sweet, citrusy flavour. San Miguel Pale Pilsner is a classic Filipino lager with a balanced, crisp taste and mild bitterness. San Miguel Light is a lighter version, offering a smooth, easy-drinking flavour with fewer calories. Both are popular choices.

We also discussed which beer is our favourite and both had different answers, Jason preferring the San Miguel Pale Pilsner for a session drink and Erin preferring the less strong and more sweet San Miguel Lemon.

We were actually pretty surprised at how many we got right (and wrong!). How many do you think you could get right? Try it yourselves and tag us!
