The John S. McCain III National Center for Environmental Conflict Resolution (National Center), a program of the Morris K. Udall and Stewart L. Udall Foundation, provides impartial collaboration, consensus-building, and conflict resolution services. Our work enhances multiparty problem solving and decision-making by helping parties work together, build a shared understanding of issues, address concerns, and develop strong outcomes.
About the Connecting Generations Webinar Series: The National Center’s Native American and Alaska Native Service Area hosted a series of webinars to increase awareness and build collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills among emerging Native American environmental collaboration and conflict resolution (ECCR) practitioners. The webinars integrate perspectives from seasoned and emerging practitioners to share and explore best practices, lessons learned, and new opportunities. The webinar series expands critical conflict resolution capacity in support of existing and future environmental and natural resource challenges involving Native Nations, the Federal Government, and others.
Connecting Generations Session 3: Environmental Collaboration and Conflict Resolution Stories from the Field. This webinar brings practitioners and those interested in the ECCR field together to explore various hypothetical situations relating to Federal ECCR processes involving Native Nations and share success stories and lessons learned. Participants discuss ways to incorporate cultural values, Indigenous Traditional Ecological Knowledge (ITEK), community engagement, and cultural sensitivity into ECCR processes.
