In this clip 18.28.46 Blue 022 lands then CJ7 arrives, clutching a fish remnant, just the tail really. Then along comes 1H1, all in the space of a few seconds. 1H1 tries to take the fish tail from CJ7 but ends up just flicking it over towards 022 who takes it and starts munching. CJ7 just stands there. After a few moments 1H1 departs but returns immediately and lands on CJ7’s back! She eventually flies away after first landing on the cam post, then 022 departs leaving CJ7 alone on the nest. She doesn't stay long and departs at 18.33.42. Welcome home CJ7!
Brief history: CJ7 and 022 are a long established pair - resident male 022 returned 22nd March, hopefully resident female CJ7 will soon be returning to renew their relationship for another year. They have successfully fledged 8 chicks to migration over the last 3 years, including FOUR chicks last year 2024.
3 female birds from previous years have now established successful nests in Wales, again raising young.
Several birds, both Poole born and from other areas were seen on the various nests in and around the harbour and hopefully they will return and a 2nd and maybe even a 3rd nest being established this year.
