Notre Dame believes it has the perfect coach leading the Fighting Irish football program and is prepared to do what it take to keep Freeman content.
"He is the absolute best coach in the country for Notre Dame," athletic director Pete Bevacqua said Tuesday. "One of the greatest college coaches in the country."
Freeman has gone 24-4 over the last two seasons at Notre Dame (43-11 overall) and his name frequently pops-up as a coach that NFL teams are interested in hiring.
