This quarter's Perry test found me in Ashtabula County again. This is siren A-1 near Geneva State Park off of Lake Road W., which is across the road from the beach parking lot. On my way home in July, I had passed this unit and noticed a strip of grass off to the side of the road between a service road and the main road you could film this one from, so I decided to try it.
This siren was installed sometime between 2016 and 2018 to replace one of the last remaining Whelens in the EPZ system. Despite being lower pitched, this was louder than the T-128 from this past Saturday. I had hoped to get some more of the autumn leaves in the shot or get a zoomed out shot, but something happened with the exposure on my Vixia that made any zoomed out footage unusable. It was extremely windy today, and you could see many white capped waves on Lake Erie near the end of my drive to the siren. For whatever reason US Customs and Border Protection was driving down the service road, so I am glad I set up in the grass to avoid my cameras being run over. Enjoy!
Lake County/Perry Nuclear test their sirens quarterly, on the 2nd Wednesday at 11 AM in the months of January, April, July, and October.
@OhioOutdoorWarningSirens also showed up to this test today.
