This is a prequel to our last video which covered our final race in the Bimmer Challenge series at Buttonwillow where we managed a time of 1:59. This video covers the modifications we made to the car immediately after our semi-final race to best ensure our win at the final race.
Keep in mind, the car is still only running the stock m50b25 non-vanos motor with only an exhaust, suspension mods, some aero, and weight reduction! We wanted to use this car and the series as testing grounds for our own products and to showcase how simple mods and seat time can achieve fast laps.
Bimmer Challenge is a race series hosted in California with 5 different classes based on modifications and specs of your car. The series will take us to several different tracks across California. With almost exclusively suspension mods and safety gear equipped on our Grip-E36 which we had originally built for Bimmerfest 2019 (check out our series on building it!), we qualified for the B5 class which consists of the slightly lower built cars. In our class, however, we are still competing against E36 M3's and similar cars with often ~100+ more horsepower than our little yellow E36.
How will the Garagistic Grip-E36 keep up with the competition?? Stay tuned for future episodes to find out 🤘
