Today we show you how to deal with that frustrating problem of installing back splash tiles that keep falling off the backing mesh sheet, like after you make cuts on the wet saw and glue became wet and loosened, or maybe you have already bad, problematic loose tiles that keep falling off the mesh right out of the box, or a sheet of backsplash tiles that is just flopping too much and you can't get it to install properly on the wall, and it is bunching up and pinching your grout lines together.
The secret for your mosaic tile installation is to make the entire sheet of mosaic tiles stiff and rigid with mortar first, then install the entire solid sheet on the wall as though it is now a large single stiff mosaic tile.
Out tile installation method here consists of taping the front face of the sheet of tiles with blue tape to hold it all together first, then you back butter the back of the mesh/sheet of tiles, and place it down on a cut out template of Schluter Kerdi Membrane that has also been buttered and troweled out.
Then you let your sheets of back splash mosaic tile dry overnight and you now have a single solid flat sheet of tiles to hang on the wall instead of a sheet of loose tiles that is flopping around.
Just make sure you trowel on the wall at least 3/8" to 1/2" of a mortar to allows for differences in the thickness of the backbutter layer you put on the sheet of tiles, as each sheet thickness will now be a bit different, but yet their front adages must all be in plane with no lippage, between them. By troweling on thicker mortar, this allows you a bit more margin for thickness differences of each tile sheet.
