Winter kayaking AT NIGHT in Stockholm! (Advanced Elements Airfusion EVO & AdvancedFrame Expedition)

December 21st, 2021 (2021-12-21): A great kayaking night exploring cold and icy Stockholm waters with a visiting friend. Not very windy, but lots of ice sheets floating around in the water, blocking part of the city waterways. Using the #AirfusionEVO and #AdvancedFrameExpedition Elite from #AdvancedElements, and drysuits/equivalent and winter gear, we set out to explore Stockholm after sunset at a time when, except for the occasional ferry, no vessels can be found on the water. A special experience to have the city to yourself on the water in the dark!

Later in the video you can hear some ice being crushed; paddling through or around thin sheets of ice was commonplace during the trip. We had to turn back after City Hall since part of the canal at Klara sjö was covered in thick ice.

*** SAFETY NOTE: This was done with drysuits and based on kayaking experience and with continuous safety assessments and proper winter kayaking safety gear and night kayaking safety gear. Not to be attempted by beginner kayakers, without proper safety gear / experience, or outside your own comfort zone. Winter paddling and night paddling can be dangerous unless approached safely.
