This lesson showcases the basics of the Nellcor™ bedside respiratory patient monitoring system, PM1000N — including how to access the fuse drawer, AC power, and equipotential connector. We show you how to navigate the various front and side panel ports — and get the most out of the LCD color touchscreen. You’ll learn to how to easily view SpO2, pulse rate, and respiration rate from the parameter reading screen — and navigate the information in the password-protected service area. We also provide tips on setting adjustments within the menu display, including alarm limits, monitoring history, event making, and data export. Finally, we go in-depth on alarm management — including what happens when an alarm occurs and how to change alarm modes for adults and neonates. You’ll learn how to use the monitoring status field to capture alarm importance in conjunction with audible alarms. And you’ll learn to further adjust alarm silence durations for an improved patient experience.
