Is the Dark Light REALLY Stereo or Mono?? Let's Find Out

The @oldbloodnoise (OBNE) Dark Light is touted as a combination pedal of their famed Dark Star and Sunlight reverb pedals...but in STEREO! When they announced this I was stoked! I enjoy the flavors that the Dark Star and Sunlight offer, but they're mono, and I just always felt something was missing (as I do with most mono reverbs. I know, I'm a stereo snob, but admitting it is the first step, right?)
So when the Dark Light arrived I dropped everything I was doing to test it out and see how it sounded and immediately I was floored! Absolutely blown away with the sounds coming from this relatively small box. There are individual controls for both sides, with a shared Spread knob to adjust the stereo width. This is where things get interesting. I couldn't tell (and still can't) exactly what was happening turning the knob. Was it stereo? Was it not? Dual mono maybe with a phantom center maybe? Whatever is going on, the psycho-acoustics have me flummoxed.
Like nearly all our videos we discover nuances and settings we didn't expect and learn more deeply about these pedals. Are there limitations? Is that a bad thing? Who even knows? One thing is for sure, the sounds out of this baby are amazing! I could dive deep for days tweaking and finding brilliant sounds.
...and then we send a stereo ping pong delay from the @ChaseBlissAudio MOOD Mkii and THAT'S when things get REALLY interesting!
Let me know what you think. I'm always intrigued by your thoughts and comments!
