North America is one of 8 major wildlife regions in the world and famous for its’ many carnivores, especially bears, wolves, foxes, coyotes, lynx, bobcats, and cougars (mountain lions). These carnivores make up keystone species for their ecosystems with many endangered, or locally extinct during the 20th century.
You can see alligators in swamps and rattle snakes in the deserts. The list of amazing North American Wildlife is long and includes the fastest antelope in the world (prong horn), enigmatic armadillo species and the impressive bald eagle.
North America includes some diverse biomes such as deserts, grasslands, and tundra. Each biome includes specific flora and fauna unique to the continents. They should all be protected in order to ensure a healthy environment.
