It definitely has been a while. Three months of sabbatical and I was starting to get antsy. I wasn't getting any inspiration and frankly, the last video I made is a hit with you guys but a bummer for me. I forced it out just for the sake of posting a yearly birthday video, but in actuality, it wasn't my best work. I haven't seen it again because for some reason I cringe whenever I look at it. This led to me not feeling any kind of inspiration for the next project even though I started so many, believe me. There are so many on the back burner with great soundtracks but I just can't make myself commit to one.

The reason this one was even made was because of the new Taennie Paris date videos that were released, along with the Haegeum MV that spawned so many edits. Reminded me of back in the day when Daechwita was released and we all lost our ever-loving minds. Cause of Haegeum, I felt like going back to my roots and reliving the whole Royalty AU era that really launched this channel to new heights. Seriously, that video is my biggest hit and I kinda thought it'd be fitting if we could do the nitty gritty again with the new iteration of Agust D that Yoongi gave us. And does that boy hard commit to what we want. Love him for it. The mafia aesthetic after the mad king one? Like damn boy!

Anyway, I love this song and I thought it would represent the dark and dangerous side of mafia romance love triangle she-bang pretty nicely. No other song was working and since I didn't want to go with the contrived 'OooOh one guy is evil and she needs to end up with the other one but I guess they both end up dead??!?!' I wanted Jennie to have more agency this time. Like she chose to play with both of them. And the two might have issues with one another but they adore the girl. Love this for them.

The thumbnail took a while and I may have gone a bit overboard with the color palette, but I guess we should all experiment every now and then. For the life of me, I could not find a good Yoongi screencap in HD from the MV. Not a single one! What gives! It wasted a lot of time. Not to mention this video also took a long while because I kept stopping every other cut. I couldn't work the kinks out with the story and how I wanted to progress it.

Usually, I have a plot ready or it works itself out pretty quickly after I start editing. This time around every other second I'd get lost thinking up how to proceed with the plot and especially the ending. Hence why it's so open-ended.

I was originally planning on there being an extra scene where the boys played poker with one another that Jennie interrupted and played off the two against one another with each focusing too much on her who was enjoying it. Heh. Fun times. But I couldn't shoehorn that anyway. So I left it out. Maybe some other video will have that.

Anyway, this still turned out good. Now let's hope I can finish the other ones too. 3 months is the biggest break I took since I started because I usually take a month and a half to get back into the next one. Not this time. I was too down and couldn't hack it. Usually when I got a block I'd make a 30 or 40 sec edit. But I couldn't even do that this time no matter how much I forced it.

Well, anyway, onto the next one. Hope you all like this one. I really need that confidence boost. Hopefully the next video will be on the next laptop I'm gonna get. Eeeep.
