Happy Holi!! 🪷🕉️🍧🌻


After a long and tiring Friday, I just wanted to relax! 🏡😴 I came home from work, watched some TV 📺 to unwind, but since it was Holi, I felt like making Gujiyas 🥟! The only problem? No Khoya! 😅 So, I made Khoya first 🥛🔥, but by the time I finished, it was too late to fry Gujiyas. Instead, I just prepared the stuffing 🥥🌰 and left the rest for the next day.

For dinner, we kept it super simple—just Dal & Jowl 🍛. I also made a quick tomato salad 🍅 with sea salt & black pepper since I didn’t have enough veggies in the fridge. After that, it was straight to bed! 😴

The next morning… ☀️
Like always, I started my day with black coffee & ghee ☕🧈. Then I went out to grab lunch 🍽️ and picked up a vegetarian falafel wrap 🌯 (which I always cut in half to eat comfortably 😆). After lunch, it was finally time to make Gujiyas! 🥟✨ I fried them on medium heat, and they turned out absolutely delicious! 🤩

Here’s an easy homemade khoya recipe using milk powder, ghee, and milk—perfect for Gujiyas and Indian sweets!

Ingredients:
• 1 cup milk powder 🍶
• ¼ cup milk (warm) 🥛
• 2 tbsp ghee 🧈

Instructions:

1️⃣ Heat Ghee: In a pan, heat 2 tbsp ghee on low flame until melted. 🫕🔥
2️⃣ Add Milk: Pour in ¼ cup warm milk and stir well.
3️⃣ Mix Milk Powder: Gradually add 1 cup milk powder, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. 🥄
4️⃣ Cook on Low Heat: Keep stirring and cook on low flame until the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan. It should resemble soft khoya/mawa. 😍
5️⃣ Cool & Use: Turn off the heat, let it cool slightly, and your instant khoya is ready to use in Gujiyas, barfis, and more! 🥟🎉

💡 Tip: If you want granular khoya, cook a little longer until it becomes crumbly.
