Welcome to a ProCredits Lesson from Pixel Film Studios.
Lets begin by locating ProCredits in the FCPX titles Library.
ProCredits gives users a variety of presets to choose from which will help create a professional credit scene.
For this example we will start off by adding a background overlay and a drop zone to our footage.
First Click and drag your footage to the timeline.
Then drag over the background overlay preset.
In this example we will drag the background overlay to same length as our footage.
After click the background overlay adjustment layer and go to the inspector window.
Adjust color, opacity and blur amount.

Next we will add a drop zone.
For this example we will be using the 1 Drop zone preset.
Click and drag the preset on top of the background overlay adjustment layer.
In this example we are going to cut the drop zone adjustment layer a little shorter than the footage and background overlay.
By adjusting the length of drop zone and credit presets will alter the speed.
For example the shorter the adjustment layer the faster the animation and the longer the adjustment layer the slower the animation.

Now that we have the drop zone in the timeline, select that drop zone adjustment layer and go to the inspector window.
Let’s begin by filling the drop zone.
Click the drop zone icon.
When highlighted select your media in the FCPX media library.
Then click apply clip in the bottom right hand corner of the viewer window.
Now that we have our drop zone filled you can customize it to your liking.
The fade in and fade out checkboxes are optional.
For this example we are keeping both of them enabled.
You can adjust position, width and height in the inspector window or by using the on-screen controls in the viewer window.
Lastly adjust your media in the drop zone by altering the pan and scale.

Next we will insert scrolling cast credits.
For this example we will be using the cast preset from the scrolling section.
Drag the preset into the timeline.
Again you adjust the speed of the scrolling by making the adjustment layer shorter or longer.
After you have find the right speed, Select the adjustment layer and go to the inspector window.

In this example we want the cast credits to scroll from off screen so we will leave the start of screen check box enabled.
Adjust position using the slider in the inspector window or using the control puck in the viewer window.
Now let’s move on to the text controls.
In order to change text font you will need to select the editable text checkbox.
Then double click the text you would like to change.
After highlight the text and click the text tab in the inspector window, There you will be abel to select a font of your choosing.
Once you have your text altered make sure to deselect the edit text checkbox before rendering.
Next you can control the spread between the left and right text.
When adding more credits, Make sure to stack the next preset towards the end of the previous credit animation so you won’t have credits overlapping each other.
