Notes by Leslie Lazenby - Tamron is an independent lens manufacturer that made the Adaptall lens system. The system allowed up to 17 different camera brands to quickly fit a fine assortment of lenses. Smart for dealers it allowed them to carry a small inventory especially in exotic lenses like the 17mm or 500 cat lenses and fit nearly every camera manufacturer out there. I use many different 35mm SLRs and I can use or test nearly anything that was made from 1960s through 2000 with the proper mount and one of these lenses. All this would not have worked unless the glass and build was good, and it was.
Pictured is the Tamron 500mm Cat lens, the small and light weight 28-70, 28-80, and one I use all the time the beautiful 24mm. Around the lenses are an assortment of mounts, including an Olympus OM, Minolta MD, Nikon AI, Pentax PK and a Canon FD. You can see the green dot on the back of the lens and on the mount, line up the dots and twist on the mount of your choice.
