Well as the north winds had picked up again, and it was lumpy on the beach, with a chance of rain, I had a look on google maps to pick a place to fish for a few hours. I had to go to Lowestoft to pick up my life jackets, new flares and first aid kit from the Marine safety centre, so looked around that area. I found lake lothing. Ive never fished it before, but I could reverse up to the edge in my van, and fish out of the back doors. Perfect in the wind and rain. Also, I had heard of a bass or two coming out of the river that way, so it had to be worth a try. After being there for an hour, another angler set up next to me, and we had a good chin wag on and off, turns out he was also an engineer, and a nice bloke, so that was a bonus..
