Elements within event-driven architectures are exceedingly loosely coupled and only coupled to the intermediate channels. Streaming platforms serve as the critical backbone between event producers and consumers, embodying core event-driven principles including event immutability, deduplication, loose coupling, and schema evolution. While these platforms offer powerful capabilities for building distributed systems, they also present significant complexity in configuration, scalability, and maintainability.
This session explores the fundamental principles and practical implementation of event-driven architectures using streaming solutions such as Apache Kafka. We will discuss certain architectural principles and design patterns that balance performance and scalability while avoiding common architectural pitfalls when using streaming solutions.
Through practical examples and real-world scenarios, attendees will gain actionable insights for evaluating and implementing streaming platforms based on specific use cases and requirements.
