Shergaon | Arunachal | Guwahati to Shergaon | Wonderful Road Trip Through Mountains |

In this trip, we will be covering Shergaon, Dirang, Sangti Valley and Sela Pass under West Kameng and Tawang Circuit of Arunachal Pradesh.
Shergaon offers hill and river view, clean environment, culture, hill station, and much more,
Shergaon is mostly inhabited by Sherdukpen tribe. it is located at a distance of 225 km from Guwahati.
On the day of visit to Shergaon, we went to State Horticulture Farm - It is one of the important tourist spots. It is mainly famous for planting Apple, Kiwi Orchards, Walnut, Aromatic and Medicinal and other fruits too. Plus the scenic beauty of this place is amazing.
Naturally much more needs to be done here and it is not a place that one visits to knock-off certain attractions but to relax and experience
There are two routes from Guwahati to Shergaon, one via Bhalukpong and other one via Balemu, as planned we decided to start the journey via Balemu route.
It is better to start the journey as early as possible from Guwahati to enjoy the scenic beauty at Shergaon.
We had our breakfast at Kharupetia. The restaurant was decent and clean on the highway that takes you to Shergaon.
Journey after Rowta - You can travel via Orang or via Bhairab kunda. We took the Bhairab Kunda route.
When you are traveling to Arunachal Pradesh, one needs to have ILP certificate which is a permit to enter Arunachal Pradesh. You can get the ILP either online or offline directly from the office. You can apply ILP online - https://eilp.arunachal.gov.in/preTuri.... ILP fee is Rs 300 per person, usually you get ILP within 24 hours if you apply online but it is better to keep a space of 2-3 days for this.
While entering Arunachal Pradesh you will get a check post at Balemu - At this place our ILP got checked and there is a similar check post at Bhalukpong also, if you took that route. The road through Bhairab Kunda to Balemu check post is narrow and un-surfaced beside the hill but is full of scenic beauty with Bhutan on one side and the hills of Arunachal Pradesh on the other side
We had our lunch at a local restaurant named Food Hut at Shergaon (Veg thali – Rs. 120/-), the food was awesome. After that we proceeded for Horticulture farm at Shergaon.
Overnight stay at Shergaon - we stayed at Red Berry Homestay and paid Rs 3200 for 2 rooms (dinner excluded) for the same,– The homestay was awesome and located adjacent to the Trans Himalaya Hwy and beside a beautiful stream.
