ECLIPSE Portuguese Pilot: Flexibility Services with Household Consumers

This video presents the Portuguese pilot of the ECLIPSE Digital Project, led by E-REDES in collaboration with R&D Nester.

The pilot involves 50 low-voltage household consumers in Porto, Braga and Guarda, exploring how consumption flexibility can be used to provide services to the electricity grid. By using smart meter data and the Balcão Digital app, together with a market simulator, the pilot tests both the technical and behavioural potential of consumers to support grid efficiency.

Thanks to the Common European Reference Framework (CERF), the Balcão Digital app is enhanced to cover the full flexibility value chain, including grid needs, bid submission, activation signals, delivered flexibility and clear visualizations for users, as well as interfaces for DSO/TSO coordination.
