Welcome to my video about electrolytes and why they matter for people with End-Stage Kidney Disease (ESRD). Electrolytes are tiny particles in your blood that help your body work the right way. In this video, I’ll talk about four important ones: sodium, potassium, calcium, and phosphorus.
Sodium helps control fluid and blood pressure.
Potassium keeps your heart and muscles working.
Calcium makes your bones strong and helps your nerves.
Phosphorus works with calcium to keep bones healthy.
When your kidneys don’t work well, these electrolytes can get out of balance. Too much or too little can cause problems like weak bones, heart issues, or swelling. We’ll explain what each electrolyte does, why balance is important, and how you can help keep them in check with your diet and treatments.
This video is easy to follow and gives you the basics you need to stay healthy with ESRD.
