Newport Beach Trash - THE FINALE: Monday - Part 1

This is it! The final stretch of Newport Beach Trash videos is finally here. A little over four and a half years since the beginning of these videos has finally come to an end. The finale is composed of 10 videos which will be uploaded over the next few weeks. In November 2013, the city council voted 4-3 to outsource the city's refuse department to a private refuse hauler. The finalists were CR&R, Ware Disposal, and Rainbow Environmental Services. Four of the seven council members voted to outsource to CR&R, while the other three voted not to contract out the refuse service. The contract with CR&R began one week after this video was filmed, on March 31st, 2014.

Starting off the video are Jeff L & Pablo on 5023 working around the Balboa Peninsula Point, which included a few boardwalk stops. Afterward, we join Chris on 5036 picking up his route stub on the actual point. Though we break off from his route, you'll see him again in part 2 of the final Monday adventure. I mainly wanted to focus on Jeff L since this was his last day working for the city. He decided to go to work for CR&R as part of the new contract. The route, Bay Section, was another thing I wanted to film since I never did earlier. Comment, rate, and check out part 2!
