Is it normal for first-time sex to hurt?

There's a common perception that "losing your virginity" is a little bit painful - particularly if we're talking about penetrative sex and the person experiencing the pain has the vagina or anus.

But unwanted pain during sex - even first-time sex - isn't something anyone has to tolerate. In this video, I discuss some of the reasons intercourse might be painful, and what you can do to avoid the ouch!
