2024.11.7 InNoVAtion Lunch and Learn - Advancing Intersection Technologies

The Northern Virginia Transportation Authority’s (NVTA) Transportation Technology Strategic Plan (TTSP) includes nine roles that NVTA can undertake in proactively preparing for innovation. One of these is a role for staff to conduct outreach and education. With this in mind, NVTA staff are conducting a series of virtual InNoVAtion Lunch and Learns, designed to provide opportunities for pragmatic information exchange about technologies or innovations that are feasible immediately or in the near future (1-5 years.) Join us for a Lunch and Learn session focused on the Smart Intersection Technologies being deployed in Falls Church. Led by Mike Mollenhauer, Director at VTTI, and Cindy Mester, Director at Falls Church, this session will explore the first phase of VTTI’s Smart City project. This session will explore the implementation of advanced traffic control systems aimed at improving pedestrian safety, traffic flow, and energy efficiency. Attendees will learn about the latest smart technologies being deployed across Northern Virginia and gain insight into the next phase of smart city developments.
