Chinese 55 Ethnic Minorities for Advanced|中文学习|中国少数民族满族|高级挑战
The Manchu ethnic group is one of China's ethnic minorities. They mainly live in northeastern China, such as Liaoning, Jilin, and Heilongjiang. The Manchu people have their own language called "Manchu," but most of them now speak Chinese.
The Manchu are well known in history because they founded the Qing Dynasty (1644–1911), which was the last imperial dynasty in China. At that time, many Manchu people lived in Beijing.
The Manchu have some special traditions, such as eating Sachima (a kind of sweet snack) during the Spring Festival. They also like to wear qipao and *magua*, which are traditional clothes. In the past, Manchu society was organized into groups called the "Eight Banners."
Today, Manchu people live, study, and work just like others, but they still keep some of their cultural traditions.
