Each year, Hermiston community members celebrate summer with Melon Fest, a day-long festival dedicated to the local delicacy: watermelons. The city of Hermiston and the Hermiston Downtown District are the hosts of Melon Fest, which will be Aug. 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on and around Main Street and Festival Street. The event started in 2018 and will feature live music, contests, local vendors, a classic car and hot rod show and plenty of free slices of fresh Hermiston watermelon.
It was a FUN day!
