Ridge soaring to Mont Ventoux

Back in the French alps for some gliding in September 2025. The gliding weather was weak and cloudbase on most days not above 2500m making soaring into the high mountains further north not possible. On a positive note it meant often flying at ridge height which made for great learning and experiences like on this day where there were not thermals active but a light (10-15kmh) northerly wind made it possible to glide from Sisteron aifrield 50km straight along the ridges up to the Mont Ventoux and back.

(Glider) Plane is a Ventus 2ct with 18m wingspan.
