Sāstra confirms that any wealth, energy, or effort offered in book distribution (śāstra-dāna) or temple construction (mandira-nirmāṇa) is never lost. Even if a person forgets, Krishna does not forget.

1. Book Distribution (Śāstra-dāna)

Padma Purāṇa says:
“One who donates the scriptures of dharma to others achieves the result of performing all sacrifices, and such a person is worshipped even in Vaikuṇṭha.”.

2. Temple Construction (Mandira-sevā)

Viṣṇu-dharmottara Purāṇa says:
“Even if one builds a small hut for Lord Viṣṇu, he delivers ten generations of his family.”

Agni Purāṇa states:
“One who constructs a temple for Lord Hari resides with Him eternally, even if the temple is small as a mustard seed.”

Śrīla Prabhupāda said:
“If someone contributes to building Krishna’s temple, Krishna is building a palace for him in Vaikuṇṭha.”

👉 Such donations ensure both material prosperity (in this life or next) and eternal spiritual benefit.

Materially: As śāstra says, the wealth given in Krishna’s service comes back multiplied — either in the form of wealth, good family, long life, health, or opportunities in the next birth.

Spiritually: More importantly, the donor gets a chance to again take birth in a devotional family, or directly advance toward liberation and Krishna-prema.

Krishna promises in Bhagavad-gītā (2.40):
“In this endeavor (bhakti), there is no loss or diminution, and even a little advancement saves one from the greatest fear.”

So every paisa given for book distribution and temple construction is like depositing in an eternal spiritual bank account — never lost, always returning, either as bhoga (material comfort) or as bhakti (devotion).

✨ In summary: Yes, the money comes back — but with interest, and more importantly, it returns in the form of bhakti-sukṛti that brings one closer to Krishna.
