WHY IS THE INTERVIEWER ASKING YOU THE QUESTION, WHAT MAKES YOU A GOOD FIT FOR THIS ROLE?
They are asking you this interview question because they want to be convinced that you are going to be able to contribute to their business in super-fast time.

They don’t want to have to train you up for weeks on end, and they certainly don’t want to have to teach you the skills and qualities needed to excel in the role.

Now, there are 7 IMPORTANT SKILLS AND QUALITIES all employers look for when hiring people, and you must mention these in your answer to the question, WHAT MAKES YOU A GOOD FIT FOR THIS ROLE?

Let me explain what they are:

#1. COMMUNICATION is the most sought-after skill in all job roles. If you can communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, you are going to be a good fit for the role you have applied for!

#2. COLLABORATING WITH OTHERS as part of a team is the second essential skill needed for all job roles. If you can’t work with other people, and more importantly put the needs of the team first, you are no use to the hiring manager!

#3. Having a POSITIVE ATTITUDE! This is one of the most attractive qualities for all employers. If you want to be a good fit for any role, you need to be positive in the face of adversity; be positive whenever you encounter difficult challenges, and be positive about change.

#4 is FLEXIBILITY. Flexibility comes towards the top of the list in respect of qualities needed to be a good fit for any job role. Flexibility in terms of the hours you are prepared to work; flexibility in being prepared to carry out tasks that might be outside of your job description; and flexibility in terms of being prepared to help out at short notice. So, if you want to show the hiring manager you are a good fit for any role, be flexible!

#5 is being GOAL-ORIENTED. This is one of the BEST WAYS to show the hiring manager you are a good fit for their role! Most interview candidates are not goal-orientated. They simply turn up to work, do their job, and go home. But, if you are GOAL-ORIENTATED, and you always have things at work you are working towards achieving, this is going to be very attractive to the hiring manager.

#6 is RELIABILITY & TRUSTWORTHINESS. These are two of the most sought after qualities looked for by all hiring managers. In fact, whenever I hire people for job roles within my company, these two are at the top of the list. When you answer the interview question, what makes you a good fit for the role, talk about how your reliability and trustworthiness will add value to the team that you are going to be a part of!

#7 is RESOURCEFULNESS. This, again, one of the essential qualities hiring managers look for when hiring people for all job roles. Being resourceful means you have the ability and confidence to quickly overcome difficulties and challenges whenever they arise.
