Freewheel 6 to 7 Speed Conversion

This video shows the freewheel conversion from 6 speed to 7 speed

What we need for this setup is a 7 speed 14-28T freewheel )thread-on) and a set of 7 speed shifters. The derailleur can be kept for this setup.

The freewheel is threaded and it’s best to take it out with the removal tool.

I've used a breaker bar to loosen it.

The 7 speed is wider than the 6 speed and it’s hitting the derailleur hanger (back plate/nut). Remove the plate/nut and bolt for clearance.

Tune and adjust the limit screws to finish the setup.
