Hello and welcome!
In this video, enjoy the very satisfying scooping and removal of chicken detritus, deposited from December to February. They have been generally laying well, but with weather changes tend to go on strike for a day or so. The coop is now fully insulated, and stay tuned as we build some roosts to keep them happy and healthy. Not sure our chickens get talk radio like Jeremy Clarkson's farm, but we will see!
Phil and I have 17 chickens that lay for us, and make hilarious chicken sounds. They have a top hen who gives the others trouble, her name is Betty and she pecks the others without compunction. The remainder tend to be gentle and inquisitive. These chickens are 9 months old, and we do not yet have a rooster.
