The BYD HYROX Melbourne Major | Men’s Doubles delivered redemption arcs, repeat podiums, and a packed Road to Stockholm storyline.
The home crowd got exactly what they came for as James Kelly & Jake Dearden claimed a long-awaited victory, executing a controlled and powerful race to take first place on Australian soil.
In second Charlie Botterill struck again, this time alongside Ollie Russell, finding redemption after Hamburg with a composed and confident performance that kept them firmly in the fight throughout.
But third place was anything but guaranteed. Jake Williamson & Alen Ploj fought their way through the field to secure another podium finish, proving their consistency at the highest level.
Behind them, the battle for qualification was relentless. Fourth place went to Belgium, securing the coveted Stockholm qualification spot, while Tim Wenisch (already qualified with Alex Roncevic) & Michael Bartsch, crossed the line in fifth, opening the door for Fabian Eisenlauer & Jeremy McConnell to claim the final remaining ticket to Stockholm.
This was a race of pressure, precision, and perfectly timed execution.
