Gen.Farrah Aidid(Farrax Caydiid) was a radical Somali leader who fought against United Nations, eventually pushing them back in 1995. He reportedly shot down two helicopters of the US Army in October 1993, which created tensions between him and then President Bill Clinton. Earlier in 1990, his rivalry with Ali Mahdi triggered a nationwide civil war which took the lives of 350,000 people. This interview taken in 1994 was at a very crucial point of time as he was killed in battle in July of 1996.
