Harry has said his “worst fears were confirmed” during his ongoing legal battle with the Home Office over his right to taxpayer-funded police protection while in the United Kingdom.
In an interview with *The Telegraph*, the Duke said, “People would be shocked by what’s being held back,” and described the legal disclosure as “really sad.” He added, “This one always mattered the most,” acknowledging the case had left him “exhausted” and “overwhelmed.”
It has also been reported that Harry privately believes the original security decision was designed to discourage his and Meghan’s decision to step back from royal life and relocate to the United States—an assertion strongly denied by Buckingham Palace sources. Harry explained, “We were trying to create this happy house,”
Dai Davies, former head of royal protection at Scotland Yard told the Mail on Sunday, , “He is given a liaison officer who has access to the most up-to-date intelligence reports. The idea that he needs 24/7 armed protection is ridiculous – so too is the idea that Britain is unsafe for him.”
