Prospecting is a true roller coaster of highs and lows. While many imagine it’s as simple as walking onto a patch of quartz-strewn ground and scooping up gold nuggets, the reality couldn’t be further from the truth.
Whether you're a full-time prospector, weekend warrior, or hobbyist, gold detecting is always a hit-and-miss game. Even in well-mapped, gold-bearing regions, finding the right ground can be a challenge. Nuggets range in size from tiny sub-gram pieces to the occasional monster find – and while life-changing gold pieces do exist, they’re few and far between.
