Disney California Adventure | World of Color Pre-Premiere Soundtrack (Version 2)

Back in June of 2010, Disney California Adventure debuted an all-new nighttime spectacular on Paradise Bay that still runs to this day. World of Color was and is an ambitious project that took years of preparation. Many don’t know this but the show had various versions that were either changed or scrapped entirely before the show even debuted. This version of the soundtrack is one of two pre-premiere versions that were recorded for the show.

Fun Facts:
This version of the show’s soundtrack is close to the final product that was used when the show debuted, but still had portions of the original score.

There was also plans to have a Chernabog figure that would come to life with the use of various water screens placed on this tower that would rise out of the water. This was cut before the show even opened, and can only be seen in pictures or testing videos.

The Alice in Wonderland music was removed entirely from the show before opening and was later reused for Tokyo Disneyland’s Once Upon a Time nighttime spectacular that took place on Cinderella’s Castle.

The “A Whole New World” musical piece was changed to the movie version of the song when the show opened, but was later used in the updated version of Disneyland’s Fantasmic!

Other musical pieces that were cut from the show were “Go the Distance”, “Ever Ever After”, “So Close (Duet Version)”.
