You know those throw rugs you have that can't be washed or are too costly to send out to be cleaned? Here's an old technique to "dry clean" your rugs using snow. It really does remove dirt your vacuum can't get, brightens and freshens them too. I do this every year when we have a dry cold snowy day. You may have to repeat the process on very dirty rugs.
The secret is that it's DRY...cold dry air and dry powdery snow. It was -10 Celsius when I did this video.
