Brief description:
Ohemaa Green Housing (OGH) is a German-Ghanaian start-up initiative with the aim of redefining housing on African grounds. The vision is to be the first construction company on Ghanaian grounds to specialize in the construction of Tiny Houses made of recycled plastic. With the current deficit of 1.8 million house units we want to offer an alternative to people who are excluded from the current real estate market.

More:
Ohemaa Green Housing (OGH) is a start-up initiative that aims to reduce global plastic consumption. We focus on affordable and design-oriented house units. The building material consists of recycled plastic. We want to generate a value chain in which recycled plastic (local plastic waste) is used to produce building blocks in Ghana to build Tiny Houses for local communities.
As the majority of the Ghanaian population works in the informal sector, it has proven to be a challenge to sell housing units directly to the individuals who need them most. High interest rates and lack of creditworthiness are a major issue. For this reason, we focus on clients who act as intermediaries, either by subsidizing the costs or guaranteeing payment. Therefore our target group consists of NGOs, governmental and private institutions.
In cooperation with the RWTH Aachen University, we developed a standard model of a Tiny House. This prototype including construction (and associated costs) costs 50000 Euro. The construction should be started at the beginning of June 2020 to test the functionality of the design and to reach more donors.
For larger donations from companies and private persons we use the following account:

Behind the project are Marylin Ogboko, Augustina Busiah and Alice Busiah, supported by a team of fifteen people. As a group of students we are united by the vision of a circular economy that benefits the marginalized classes of the population.
