The Cabinet Secretary for Education, Hon. Julius Ogamba, paid a courtesy visit to the University, reaffirming the government’s commitment to advancing technical education and innovation in Kenya.
As part of his visit, Hon. Ogamba toured the Siemens Centre, where he explored the integration of metaverse-based training under the Skills Initiative for Africa (SIFA) Project—an initiative enhancing the delivery of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
He also visited the Centre for Development of Electronic Devices (CDED) and Semiconductor Technologies Limited. In addition, he attended the Industrial Metaverse Stakeholders Workshop where he interacted with over 60 TVET trainees and their principals, emphasizing the importance of youth empowerment and digital transformation.
This visit highlights DeKUT’s strategic role in equipping learners with cutting-edge skills for the Fourth Industrial Revolution and contributing to Kenya’s industrial and technological advancement.
