This is a 1 hour 30 minute record of a methods masterclass I gave at the UK's Open University. It can be listened to without the PowerPoint slides.
It covers samples and sample definitions, non-probability sampling techniques and associated issues.
The nature interviews and associated issues and responsibilities of researchers are discussed.
An overview of the literature on the use and reporting of interviews' sample size and its justfication is offered covering both empirical studies, and recommendations by experts.
Recommendations are made (with caveats)for the reporting of sample size for qualitative interviews, norms in existing studies in top journals and what to include (as an estimate) when planning research.
The presentation draws on my research with Professor Keith Townsend (Griffith University, Australia).
The recording includes the question and answer session with the students.
