Based on a true story of Sharon (Hilary Swank), a strong but failing hairdresser in small-town Kentucky who finds a newfound sense of purpose when she meets Ed (Alan Ritchson), a widower battling to provide for his two kids. With his youngest daughter awaiting a liver transplant, Sharon resolves to assist the family and will go to any length to do so.
