New Boy Group XLOV!?

A new boy group has recently debuted but they have been receiving mixed reactions due to the group’s unique concept. The new 4 member rookie boy group XLOV consisting of Taiwanese Rui, Chinese Wumuti, Japanese Haru, and Korean Hyun recently made their debut with the single album ‘I’mma Be’ on January 7th. Before their debut, the group’s company 257 Entertainment released a statement revealing that Wumuti helped produce the song. Three of the members Wumuti, Rui, and Haru were also previous contestants on Mnet’s survival show Boys Planet. 257 Entertainment revealed that the group’s concept would be genderless the company stated “XLOV’s latest album marks a groundbreaking approach in K-Pop male idols, being the first in South Korea to embrace a genderless theme”. Since the announcement of the group’s concept netizens have been divided with some praising XLOV for their bold approach while others feel that they are trying to police the term “genderless”.
