I already promised on twitter that I vidded the sh*t out of this video. and without wanting to be arrogant - I really did. I just ADORE this song (and sleeping at last in general ofc) and I wanted to vid Olivia and Fitz to it, because...well, because they're my otp and I could vid them all day long. for this video I researched so many of their scenes, I somehow forgot about. (did you guys know that they had like five times of scenes in S2 than they did in S4? tragic, I know. but S5 is gonna change that I'm sure). also, these lyrics just SCREAM Olitz, don't they? "I will rearrange the stars and pull them down to where you are." - that is literally how far they would go for each other. he build her a HOUSE. she gave up everything so that he'll be president. there are no limits to what they would do for each other. and that is true love.
well...this video couldn't have happened without some serious help from my twitterverse - yes I'm looking at you Emma and my two favorite Charlottes ;) - and I am very grateful I got them in my corner.
as to Olivia and Fitz: everything I love about them is in this video. they break my heart in more ways than I knew it could be broken. but they always manage to give me hope at the same time, cause their love is bigger than everything. They always manage to beat the odds. I mean, he's married, has kids and is freaking POTUS. he has made his fair share of mistakes. as did she. but he has been willing to give that all up for her. She rigged an election to make him president. that's how much they love each other.
I know a lot of people were disappointed in Olivia for the way she treated Fitz after her kidnapping, but to be fair: she knew that he was the only one she could blame, who would still love her in spite of doing that. and her emotions were all over the place (as they should be after the hell she went through) and she needed to put the blame somewhere.
but Fitz was smart enough to still fight for her and prove that he IS still the man she voted for and got elected. that he still is the man she believes and trusts in. and they're together now. definitively. he freaking threw Mellie out of the White House!! and she chose him. she proved that she loves him as much as he loves her. which is a lot. or would you guys go to war for some stranger? xD because of that I tried paralleling the scenes in which they both made the choice for each other.
