There’s nothing more essential to a human being than their DNA, but even its complexities can be mind-blowing to the common mind. A senior scientist at the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, revolutionising the CRISPR cas9 technology and working on a cure for sickle-cell anaemia, Dr Debojyoti Chakraborty is nothing short of a genius amongst us. His talk entails his work, the nature of lab testing in India and the future of genetic research. Debojyoti Chakraborty heads the RNA Biology Lab at CSIR - Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology. He is a Molecular Biologist working in the field of embryonic stem cell biology, genome editing and CRISPR dx.
