From Lube Tech to Ford Shop Foreman: Gonzalo Gomez Jr.’s Automotive Career

Gonzalo Gomez Jr. rose from lube tech to shop foreman at Galpin Ford. His path to this leadership role was anything but straightforward.

Gonzalo started his automotive career as many do, working as a lube tech, but he quickly realized he wanted more responsibility and knew he needed the skills to make it happen. He decided to pursue formal training in automotive technology.

"I was actually going to a community college, but it just wasn't for me," Gonzalo explains. His passion for cars led him to Universal Technical Institute (UTI), where he enrolled in the core auto program and later specialized training through the Ford FACT program.* This decision was a turning point, setting him on a path toward new opportunities and success.
