Jupiter Artland’s 2013 Exhibition, Patterns by Sara Barker (1 August - 15 September 2013).
As part of this year’s Edinburgh Art Festival, EAF and Jupiter Artland co-commissioned Sara Barker’s first sculpture to be sited in a landscape. Based in Glasgow, Barker creates exquisite structures that echo architectural forms.
Patterns is made of interlocking forms in glass, brass and stretches of aluminium painted by Barker, that cascade over a plinth of polished concrete flecked with marble. Its title, Patterns, is taken from a poem by the early 20th century American writer, Amy Lowell.
