CoreMark is a simple, yet sophisticated, benchmark that is designed specifically to test the functionality of a processor core. Running CoreMark produces a single-number score allowing users to make quick comparisons between processors. In this webinar, we will start off with an introduction to the CoreMark basics, including a description of the benchmark’s functional composition, key features, and run rules. Then, in collaboration with NXP Semiconductors, we’ll show you how to apply those run rules to benchmarking the ARM-based LCP1768. In the process, we’ll go over the setup of the benchmarking environment including the build options and compiler flags. During the webinar, we’ll run the compiled CoreMark on the embedded board showing how results are generated under various operating conditions (such as different memory speeds and different compiler settings). We’ll wrap up the webinar with a short discussion on how CoreMark ties in to the overall methodology on benchmarking embedded processors.
