Government Tackles Boarding Shortages in Schools

Government says it is working to address the shortage of boarding facilities in secondary schools.
Youth, Sport and Arts Minister ELVIS NKANDU says the free education policy, together with the school feeding programme, is yielding positive results, as seen in the improved performance in the 2025 Grade 12 examinations.
Mr. NKANDU explains that free education has led to increased enrolment, resulting in greater demand for boarding accommodation, adding that initiatives such as the Constituency Development Fund –CDF- will play a key role in addressing the challenge.
He was speaking during a courtesy call on Kasama Girls Secondary School Deputy Headteacher NAOMI DAKA.
