Hi! This week I’m designing a matching puff jacket for my dog and a puff vest/jacket for myself, starting completely from scratch.
This is part one of a two-part series, focused on the design side of the process: sketching ideas, patternmaking, problem solving, cutting fabric, and figuring out how these pieces should actually come together.
I walk through how I’m adapting shapes, thinking through proportion, and creating a dog jacket pattern based on fit and movement, plus how I’m translating that into a wearable piece for myself.
