I stumbled upon a nakashi performance on a drizzly night in the Monga Park (also known as Mengjia Park) near the MRT exit for the Longshan Temple Station in Taipei in late May 2013. This keyboard-vocalist ensemble performed a classic Japanese enka translated into the Taiwanese Holo dialect. This song is a standard in the nakashi repertory. It features two male vocals and expresses a sense of fraternity.
At one point, the mic of the keyboardist was feedbacking back into the sound system. Pickup style nakashi performers are generally cautious about how they sound live in outdoor spaces, but often have to struggle with technical and external factors to attain satisfactory sound quality.
