Good Boy (2025) is a clever spin on the horror genre. A supernatural story told through the eyes of a dog. Directed by Ben Leonberg, this small independent film shows just how much creativity and care can go into modern horror when filmmakers take their time to do something different.
But while Good Boy deserves credit for its originality, it doesn’t quite fetch the full potential of its premise. The film’s biggest idea, seeing horror unfold entirely from a dog’s point of view, is fascinating, yet it isn’t pushed as far as it could be. And even with a runtime under 80 minutes, the pacing can feel sluggish, and some moments struggle to justify their length.
